Puget Lobe Chapter “Glacialscapes/Brochure” Use
The formidable, massive Canadian ice sheet was responsible for far more than J. Harlan Bretz’s multiple floods. Finding easy ‘traveling’ down Puget Sound waters, multiple ice lobes, some a half-mile thick, overran and eventually petered-out about 65 miles south of what is now Seattle. The glacial lobe and it’s ferocious meltwaters carved dozens of literally unique land forms.
IAFI’s Puget Lobe Chapter has identified 35 of the most interesting and instructive sites, – – assembled into 5 ‘day trip’ groupings within its just-released brochure. Three user-friendly ‘QR’ codes take you to:
- An animated advance and retreat of the glacier’s lobe;
- An interactive map detailing the 6 additional sites chosen to complement each of the predominant 5 sites, – – all chosen by Art Storbo, the primary author of our brochure;
- The IAFI/Puget Lobe website.
We invite you to use our ‘mobile’ brochure to take our 5 multiple-site day trips, using the three QR codes to access the IAFI website both before and as you drive.
