In early Fall, CWU Geography professor Karl Lillquist led 75 field trippers up Peshastin Creek on Sunday, September 24, 2017. The river drainage – along US-97 between Leavenworth and Blewitt Pass – featured tales of glaciers, gold, and landslides. Click here for Karl’s field guide.
Then in late Fall, CWU Geology professor Nick Zentner led 53 hardy souls on a chilly Ritzville Outback Field Trip hike to the 15 million-year-old Roza fissure site featured in the PBS ’Nick On The Rocks’ episode called Giant Lava Flows. Nick’s Field Guide is available online here. It was great to have folks from Portland, Seattle, Spokane, and Coeur d’Alene…in addition to our central Washington regulars.
