President’s Message – July 2017
It is my great pleasure to send you the latest edition of the Pleistocene Post. You will notice that the newsletter has a new format that we hope you will enjoy. Credit for the new design, and this issue of the newsletter, goes to Lloyd DeKay our webmaster and President of the Columbia Gorge Chapter. The new format will enable you to easily find and read the articles that interest you. As we have done with past newsletters, we will continue to search for interesting information to share with you on a wide range of topics associated with the floods, the institute and our members.
September 29-30 IAFI board meeting, membership meeting and field trip – I would like to call your attention to the information in the newsletter that discusses the September 29-30 board meeting, membership meeting and field trip to the Grand Coulee. This is our annual fall meeting and field trip that rotates around the four state floods area with a different chapter hosting it each year. For fall 2017, these events are being sponsored by our Lower Grand Coulee Chapter. The trip to the Grand Coulee area will be popular and I encourage you to send in your registration information and book your lodging as soon as you can.
In 2018 the IAFI Board of Directors meeting and field trip will be sponsored by the Lower Columbia Chapter. The Board meeting will be on September 28 th and the field trip will be on September 29th.
Thank you to IAFI Supporters – We want to again thank all of you for continuing your memberships and for the donations you make to the Institute. We couldn’t do any of this without you!
Volunteers Needed – All of the work that is done by our chapters is done by volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers to help with both small tasks and large events. If you have some time and interest we would be pleased to have your help. Please see any of your chapter officers or board members to learn about local volunteer opportunities.
